Partner Migration Information Sheet


For applicants lodging Spouse, Prospective Spouse and Interdependency visa applications at the Australian High Commission, Islamabad, Pakistan.

This sheet provides information about applying for Partner Migration in Pakistan

HOW TO APPLY

1.  Obtain the forms and information. All forms can be downloaded free of charge. See: www.immi.gov.au/allforms/index.htm

2.  Complete the forms. Read the information available and ensure that all applicable parts of the forms are complete. The visa applicant must complete and sign the form 47SP and the sponsor must complete and sign the form 40SP. Each applicant aged 16 years or older should complete and sign the form 80

3.  Attach all supporting documents to the visa application. To ensure that the application is processed as quickly as possible, visa applicants should attach all of the relevant supporting documents listed in the Partner Checklist to their application. If anything is missing, unnecessary delays may result. It is the applicant’s responsibility to provide evidence that they meet the criteria for the grant of the visa

4. Lodge the application. Ensure that all forms are complete and that all evidence is attached with the forms. The visa application charge can be paid in Australia (in Australian dollars) at any immigration office and the receipt for payment attached to the visa application. Alternatively, the visa application charge can be paid in Pakistan Rupees by bank draft made out to the Australian High Commission Islamabad

Applications can only be lodged through the mail or a courier service



AFTER YOUR APPLICATION IS LODGED

1.  Acknowledgment. You will receive a letter from us within 7 days, advising you of the date we received your application, your file number, and your case officer. You will also be advised of the current average processing time

2. Communication. We will only communicate with one of the following: yourself, your migration agent (if one is nominated) or your authorised recipient. You must therefore nominate the person who is to receive all of the communication for your application. Letters will only be sent to one address.

3. Further documents. You may receive a request for further documents if they are required. If we request anything additional, we will also advise you when the documentation must be submitted.

4. Interview. You may be asked to come for an interview. If one is required, we will write to you with a date and time for the interview

5. Health requirement. You will be sent medical forms and instructions once we have started assessing your application

6. Talking to us. It would be helpful if you do not telephone the office within the average processing time unless you have an urgent situation. When contacting the office it is preferable that this is in writing, either by letter or email. Always include your file reference number whenever contacting this office. Our email address is:
